Allyn was a gifted arranger, conductor, producer, and one of Hollywood’s busiest TV and film composers. Garnering eight EMMY nominations, Ferguson was honored with an EMMY Award win for Outstanding Musical Composition for Camille. His work as arranger/producer for the Count Basie Orchestra’s ‘Count Plays Duke’ CD won a GRAMMY® Award for Outstanding Performance by a Large Jazz Ensemble.

During an illustrious career, spanning over six decades, Ferguson wrote many well-known TV Themes (Charlie’s Angels, Barney Miller, Master Of The Game). As Musical Director, he wrote and conducted for Johnny Mathis, Julie Andrews, Andy Williams, Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme, the Academy Awards, Grammy’s, Emmy’s, and many more.

His jazz and orchestral works include recordings with Stan Kenton, Freddie Hubbard, Sarah Vaughan, Buddy Rich, Andrae Crouch, Rosemary Clooney, The Pointer Sisters, Bud Shank, Bill Watrous, Ray Brown, and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Ferguson’s original scores for over 100 films, such as The Man In The Iron Mask, Little Lord Fauntleroy, A Tale of Two Cities and Les Miserables have become international classics.

A longtime board member of ASMAC and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Ferguson also served on the Board of Governors for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for many years.
