Darren Kramer is a professional freelance trombonist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator based in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Univ of Miami then founded his own music company DKO in 1998 and has recorded with Jerry Hey & Michael Brecker who are featured on his recent “Best of DKO” 25th Anniversary CD (his 6th as a leader). Kramer has toured with diverse acts such as Matchbox Twenty, Marc Anthony, Tom Jones and Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Kramer’s innovative and entrepreneurial mindset has manifested as an Electric Trombone DJ, XO Brass Artist, and Ableton Certified Trainer creating live remixes via live looping, audio effects, and virtual synths. His latest success is his “DKO ElektroHornz” project which now features a LIVE 4pc Horn Section with his cutting-edge Electric Trombone DJ Ableton Set. Additionally, his current education focus are his high quality Zoom lessons, his popular Ableton Live Summer Camp Retreats in Colorado, as well as two weekly internet shows “Funk’d Up Friday” (inspirational FB livestream performance) and “Sonic Tonic Experience” (educational vodcast/podcast) which features a weekly musical collaboration and in-depth interview with world-class musicians.



Hailing from Dixon, Illinois, Jerry Hey was born in 1950 to a pianist mother and trombonist father. Aside from being Quincy Jones' trumpet player of choice, he has arranged for and recorded with the who-is-who of music history: Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson, Elton John and many others. He has been nominated for an Oscar (for The Color Purple) as well as 15 GRAMMY awards, of which he won 6.

Film and TV credits include the Star Wars franchise, Back to the Future I, II and III, Little Mermaid, Forrest Gump, Beauty and the Beast, The Simpsons, Grumpy Old Men, Sing, Get on Up: The James Brown Story, The Notebook, Dreamgirls, Flashdance, The Last Waltz, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Proposal, Moonlighting and Ally McBeal.

Jerry continues to write, produce and conduct in the studios in Los Angeles and around the world.
