Van Alexander has a remarkable history. Van and Ella Fitzgerald co-wrote the nation's No.1 hit, A-Tisket. A-Tasket. He has scored 22 full length feature films and hundreds of television segments. He received three separate Emmy nominations for The Wacky World of Jonathan Winters (series), Gene Kelly's Wonderful World of Girls (a special), and The Golddiggers Chevy Show (series). His credits include composing and conducting for NBC's 50th Anniversary Show, A Closer Look, Dom De Luise specials, the 1969 Emmy Awards, and The Guy Mitchell Show (series). Van served as arranger and assistant conductor for eight years on The Dean Martin Show.
 
 
John Clayton, President of ASMAC, has written and arranged music for Dee Dee Bridgewater (including her Grammy award winning CD, "Dear Ella" (Verve), Natalie Cole, Milt Jackson, Nancy Wilson, Diana Krall, Quincy Jones, George Benson, Dr. John, and many others. John is also a part of the Clayton Brothers Quartet, which he co-leads with his brother, reed player Jeff Clayton. Both brothers, along with Jeff Hamilton, co-lead the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.

            The theme of this piece evokes a mood of open and perhaps alien landscape. Written for a commission, it is included on the CD “Refractions” by the Kim Richmond Concert Jazz Orchestra (Origin Arts 82413).

“Franz”

Composed and arranged by Kim Richmond - complete score

            Using the initial motif from the “Serenade” by Franz Schubert, this has a groove that is driving and mesmerizing. Featured are a bass section soli and a building ensemble after the solo section. This piece is included on the CD “Refractions” by the Kim Richmond Concert Jazz Orchestra (Origin Arts 82413).

“Promised Promises”

            The flagship piece from the CD “Refractions” by the Kim Richmond Concert Jazz Orchestra (Origin Arts 82413), this composition won a Grammy nomination. Featuring flutes and French horns in the main theme, its development takes us on a trip through moods and scenes before building to a heraldic conclusion.

  “There’s No Business Like Show Business” 
    Arranged by Ira Hearshen – Complete Score
   
     Arranged for the U.S. Air Force Band, this is a light-hearted arrangement of the famous song, using many well-known classical and Hollywood clichés. Ira Hearshen is a well-known arranger and orchestrator whose recent credits include the orchestral scores for both “Rush Hour,” “Rush Hour 2”,  as well as orchestrations on “A Bug's Life”, and “Toy Story 2,” which included the Sinatra style arrangement of the movie's theme, “You've Got a Friend in Me” by Randy Newman, sung by Robert Goulet.
