Five-time Grammy Award winner and 10-time Grammy nominee Mervyn Warren is a highly accomplished film & TV composer, record producer, lyricist, songwriter, arranger, pianist, and vocalist.

Equally adept at practically any style, Merv’s work spans the genres of pop, R&B, jazz, orchestral, classical, hip-hop, vocal, country, and gospel. One of the industry’s most sought- after producers, his credits read like a who’s-who of pop, R&B, jazz, and country and include Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Queen Latifah, Boyz II Men, Barbra Streisand, David Foster, Celine Dion, Rascal Flatts, Michael Bublé, Dolly Parton, Chicago, The Manhattan Transfer, Al Jarreau, Faith Hill, and many others.

Merv co-produced the Michael Jackson single “This Is It.” He also co-produced with Babyface the Billboard #1 R&B hit “Last Night” by Az Yet; produced a Billboard Top 10 hit – “I Believe In You & Me” (movie version) by Whitney Houston, from The Preacher’s Wife; and penned a Billboard #2 Dance hit – “The Power of One” for Donna Summer.

Merv has composed the orchestral underscore for numerous feature films – from comedy to drama to action – including the #1 hit The Wedding PlannerA Walk To Remember, and A Raisin In The Sun (2008) – the first made-for-television film ever to be accepted into the Sundance Film Festival.

Merv has also produced and created unique song arrangements for numerous films, including Sister Act 2, the critically acclaimed Living Out Loudand most of the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum soundtrack for The Preacher’s Wife (Whitney Houston) – the best-selling “gospel” album of all time.

Merv recently wrote the orchestral score and produced and arranged a dozen songs (including one original) for the feature film Joyful Noise (Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton).

Merv is now represented by his mentor Quincy Jones, which is no surprise, as Merv produced, arranged, composed, and/or performed on a total of 13 tracks on Quincy’s last three albums, Q: Soul Bossa Nostra, Q’s Jook Joint, and Back On The Block. Merv also co- produced with Quincy, et al, “We Are The World 25 For Haiti,” featuring over 80 superstars to raise money for Haitian earthquake relief.

Merv was an original member of Take 6, the a-cappella sextet that took the world by storm in 1988. He sang with Take 6 from 1980 to 1991, recording two albums with them – one platinum, one gold. On those albums, Merv produced, co-wrote, and arranged most of the award- winning songs. With the group he won four Grammy Awards, six Dove Awards, two Stellar Awards, and a Soul Train Award.

On his own, Merv earned an additional Grammy Award for the all-star Handel’s Messiah: A Soulful celebration, as well as five additional Grammy nominations, an additional Dove Award (of three nominations), and two Gospel Music Workshop of America Awards, including one for Contemporary Producer of the Year.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Merv was playing piano by age 5 and was writing songs by age 10. In high school he formed a popular vocal group, and as a teenager, he was regularly hired to arrange, play on, and sing on commercials and albums for local pop and country artists. He went on to earn two degrees in music, including a Master of Music degree in Arranging from the University of Alabama.
