Greg Phillinganes Luncheon

24 February 2016

Superb musician Greg Phillinganes gave an excellent presentation for the ASMAC luncheon at Catalinas Jazz Club on February 17.

It was a most interesting talk about his views of the music business, past and present, and, responding the questions, some of his history including how he entered the business, who he got started with, and his stepping- stones along the way.

Introduced by past president Chris Walden, Greg spoke to an engaged audience, many of whom continued to ask questions throughout. Greg showed his humorous side as well, with many wonderful stories about the people he has worked with and the personalities he has dealt with. He also treated the audience to a few numbers on the piano to both entertain — and to enhance a few of his topics.

Several of the guests on hand had worked with Greg and all were very familiar with his work as a musical director, keyboard artist and busy arranger/composer.
