A huge congratulations to the amazing Jorge Calandrelli and Michael Giacchino on their well deserved Golden Score Awards. It was a real treat for over 300 guests to hear Jorge’s beautiful music performed by such impressive talent – Calabria Foti, Arturo Sandoval, Mike Lang, Sonya Belousova, Christian Jacob, Ray Brinker,Tom Ranier and Kevin Axt – and Walter Afanasieff made a heartwarming presentation to his friend Jorge. What a blast we had roasting Michael; Tim Simonec was a standout in his “recording session attire” and Dermot Mulroney, Reggie Wilson, Pierce Gardner and Pete Doctor added to the unusual tribute to Michael’s amazing scoring genius! Our lovely mistress of ceremonies, Carol Welsman effortlessly led us through a fantastic program, and it was a delight to see videos of Jorge and Michael’s truly impressive careers. The Ahmanson Ballroom at the Skirball Center was the perfect backdrop for our musical affair and dinner was simply delicious.
