ASMAC is excited to announce our 2016 Golden Score Awards will be held Sunday, November 6th at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.  We are so pleased to honor two highly-accomplished composer/arrangers – Alf Clausen and William Ross.

We are excited to say that we are SOLD OUT.  Thank you everyone for showing your support.  (See below for a partial list of the GREAT silent auction – so those with tickets, please  bring your checkbooks and credit cards.)

Due to the high demand, we have arranged for a very limited number of seats that will be for the Awards & Performance ONLY.   You would arrive and check-in AFTER 7:00pm, and we would have a balcony seat for you (great seats with great views).  These seats will be $25.00 each.  There is no food involved.  Of course you can buy a drink if you wish and say hello to friends after the event concludes.  If you wish to be put on THIS list, please call the ASMAC office at 818-994-4661.  These will be available on a limited first come basis. 

Now…. as to the SILENT AUCTION… We have a lot of terrific items… so let’s plan ahead.

• An 8 day cruise for TWO on Viking River Cruises long ships – your choice of the RHINE or the DANUBE  on any of their 2017 embarkations. Many dates to choose from.  Airfare is not included.  The market value of this cruise is $14,398.

 Alf Clausen’s 30 Emmy nominations and 2 Emmy Awards recognize his longevity and creative work on numerous television series and Movies of the Week, with emphasis on “The Simpsons” for which he has composed for 27 years, plus his credits on “Moonlighting,” “Bette,” “ALF,” Fame,” and “Murder in Three Acts,” among many others.  Feature film credits include Half-Baked and Number One with a Bullet, plus additional music and orchestrations for “Airplane II: The Sequel,” “The Beastmaster,” “Mr. Mom,” “Naked Gun” and “Splash.” Alf served as musical director, composer and arranger for  “The Donny & Marie Show,” “Mary,” and “The Mary Tyler Moore Variety Hour,” plus numerous performing artists; and has multiple CD credits (as songwriter, conductor and producer), including “The Simpsons: Songs In The Key Of Springfield: Original Music from The Television Series,” and his Alf Clausen Jazz Orchestra CD, “Swing Can Really Hang You Up The Most.” 

William Ross is a prolific award-winning composer and arranger whose work has spanned feature films, the recording industry and television.  He has composed music for such films as The Tale of Despereaux, Ladder 49, The Game of Their Lives, Tuck Everlasting, The Young Black Stallion, and My Dog Skip.  He adapted and conducted the score to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with the London Symphony Orchestra.  His work in television includes the critically acclaimed mini series Me and My Shadows, Life with Judy Garland and the Emmy-winning music for the Tiny Toon Adventures’ episode “Fields of Honey.”  Mr. Ross has arranged music for a remarkable list of artists including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublè, Kenny G., Quincy Jones, David Foster, and Mariah Carey. In addition he has served as Music Director/Conductor for many artists and occasions, including four tours with Barbra Streisand – the 2000, 2006, 2007 and 2012 concert tours, and he has conducted the Academy Awards four times (2007, 2011, 2013, 2014).

Alf and Bill will join an illustrious list of previous recipients including John Williams, Elmer Bernstein, Hank Mancini, Michel LeGrand, Dave Grusin, Van Alexander, Bill Holman, Sammy Nestico, Michael Giacchino, Jorge Calandrelli, John Debney, Conrad Pope, and the Newman family (Randy, David, and Thomas).

Funds raised at this annual Gala will benefit ASMAC’s workshops, master classes, mentoring and scholarship programs.

Our evening will being at 5:00 pm with a reception and silent auction, followed by a gourmet dinner at 6:30 pm followed by the tribute to our honorees, entertainment and award presentations.
